As a professional in the apparel industry, my daily responsibilities now extend far beyond simply ensuring product quality; I must also consider how to help clients save money, how to meet their specific customization needs, and—crucially—how to innovate by building upon our existing product lines.
Take for instance, one of our American clients: they wanted to commission a line of denim skirts. Typically, the standard manufacturing process involves constructing the garment first and then subjecting it to a washing treatment—a method that yields a highly casual style, ideally suited for a younger demographic. However, my client targets the mid-to-high-end market—specifically professional women aged 35 to 50—who require a look that is more sophisticated and refined, yet remains versatile enough for everyday casual wear.
We began by pre-washing the denim fabric to achieve a vintage, worn-in aesthetic. The garment was then constructed using high-fashion tailoring techniques—incorporating interlining, shoulder pads, and classic suit lapels. Through a rigorous process involving repeated shrinkage tests, washes, and prototyping, we conducted several rounds of trials; the final result left our client thoroughly satisfied. I believe this is the profound sense of accomplishment that comes from dedicating oneself wholeheartedly to a task.
We create products that are highly cherished by customers in the mid-to-high-end market in the United States.
